OMG… I’m salivating for sushi. I’m going to have to settle for what we have here!
This and the other videos are great. Thank you for sharing!

Not to mention having fun eating the sushi (Karen’s not a huge fan, so I added that one to the schedule- and we both enjoyed it). Enjoy all the postings while you can- there’s no way we’ll be posting this much in a couple months when we’re tired and the Internet isn’t so accessible. As you’d expect, the web is everywhere in Japan.

Got your link from JSOnline and will enjoy traveling with you!! Curious if you’d share the money spent at the sushi place? Also, being somewhat claustrophobic and knowing that Japan is quite built-up, are there times that things would seem somewhat uncomfortable for this claustrophobic that is used to the wide-open spaces of WI?
    Safe travels…

Thanks for your comment and for following us Margaret.

The sushi meal cost $53.38 for 11 plates of sushi, green tea and a large beer. There is no tipping in Japan. I think that may be similar to a sushi meal in the US. Food is expensive in Japan, at least 1/3 higher than MKE prices.

As for being claustrophobic, you could still succeed on a trip to Japan. Stay away from the Toyko metro at rush hour; get Japanese style hotel rooms, as the western styles can be very small, with barely enough room to move around the bed. Be sure to visit the countryside, where you can see space and green and farms.

Welcome aboard, John. Enjoy the blog content while you can- I can’t imagine we’ll be posting this much in a couple months when we’re weary and staying in some Thai hotel room for 12 bucks a night. Hmm, sounds like a good subject for a video clip…

    Ken and Karen,

Jay and I have been enjoying all your posts very much. We too enjoyed a sushi train in Singapore. (Well, I loved it. Jay is not such a sushi fan). Jay is impressed with all the music/graphics Ken is including in the videos. looks like your trip is off to a great start. You’ll have to tell us how the amusement park is. We thought of you last weekend when we were at Valleyfair.
